Zach Roszel - FCSC New GK Coach

FCSC are proud to announce Zach Roszel has joined the coaching staff as our GK coach. Zach, a former FCSC player and FHS attendee will be working with our players on Wednesday evenings. 5pm-5:30pm is open for any of our recreational players, playing U8-U12 who wish to get some expert coaching. Zach will then be working with our travel goalkeepers as a part of their technical training program. Zach will also be hosting some Keeper Camps with us this summer, so keep posted on our website for more information.

Zach’s passion for the game was evident from a young age. As a youth soccer player, Zach began his career playing for FCSC.  During his FHS days, Zach played varsity all 4 years, won 2 District titles, was named First Team All-District, All-Region, Team MVP his senior year, and helped lead Fauquier High School to a 19-0 record and #1 ranking in the state of Virginia his senior year.  After graduating, Zach was inducted into the Fauquier High School Athletic Hall of Fame.  Upon finishing up his playing days at FHS, Zach continued his soccer career earning a scholarship to play at East Carolina University (DI) before transferring and earning a scholarship to play at Radford University (DI). At both universities he was the starting goalkeeper registering over 60 career NCAA division 1 starts to his name with a career goals against average of 1.2.  In 2005 during his freshman year at ECU (2005) he led Conference USA in saves for the season. At Radford he was named to the 2006 Big South All Conference Team, Wingate Inn All-Tournament Team, was named team captain his junior and senior years, and finished his career with the 4th most career shutouts at RU. While at Radford, Zach earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing.

After his collegiate playing days ended Zach founded ZAR Soccer Academy (2011), a premier goalkeeper training academy operating in Northern Virginia. Zach’s philosophy is to develop well rounded, high performing goalkeeper prepared to compete at the collegiate level. Zach holds a NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma, USSF National “D” Coaching License, and a NSCAA Level 2 Diploma.  Zach has been a District & State ODP Goalkeeper coach in Virginia, was the Director of Goalkeeping at LMVSC, and was the goalkeeper coach at the University of District of Columbia Firebirds (NCAA DII).  At UDC he helped starting Firebirds goalkeeper Louis Connor earn a spot on the NSCAA All-Region 2nd Team for NCAA Division 2 players.  Zach has also helped several of his academy goalkeepers earn scholarships or opportunities to play at NCAA Division 1, 2, or 3 schools.
